John Quincy Adams was born on July 11, 1767 in the town of Braintree, Massachusetts, which is now called Quincy, Massachusetts. Quincy is known as the City of Presidents because John Quincy and his father, John Adams both grew up in Quincy. However the town is named after Colonel John Quincy, who is Abigail Adams Father. Abigail Adams is John Quincy Adams mother, she named her son after her father. President Adams did not go to school as a child.
